Last week, Stephanie nominated me for two awards: The Liebster Award and the Versatile Blogger Award. I appreciate the nominations – Thanks Steph! I wish I followed enough bloggers with a smaller following to nominate them, I hate to break the chain, but I will play along and maybe someday I’ll come back and nominate others. In the meantime, each award has a list of questions that you are supposed to answer associated with it, so have some fun reading my responses below!
My 10 answers:
- Who is your favorite author?
Hmmm…this is a tough one, I’m not usually loyal to a particular author. I am a fan of biographies, and when people write in a way that I feel like I’m having a conversation with them, I’m hooked!
- How did you decide on your blog name?
A promotion at work that came along with a small office, and moving into a new house with a small office space for me (in the corner of the house) happened within a couple of months of each other. The comfort and excitement of those spaces helped me build my creative outlet on the blog, so what was once titled “Still Standing” was re-born as “The Corner Office”.
- If you listen to music while blogging, what genre is your muse?
Sometimes I’ll listen to music, other times I’ll be watching TV. If it’s music it’s usually Pandora’s King’s Of Leon station, or Andrew McMahon.
- Who is your biggest blog fan?
Hmm..I don’t know – you tell me!
- Why did you decide to blog?
I actually just wrote a whole post about this for my blogiversary! Here it is!
- What is your best piece of advice to anyone considering blogging?
Do it for you. Be yourself and don’t worry about the numbers.
- What is your goal for your blog in 2016?
12 months of consistent blogging, including a variety of topics.
- What is your favorite blog to read (besides your own)?
I go back and forth with other blogs. Sometimes I just forget to check my reader to stay updated, essentially, if I’m following you, I enjoy reading your posts.
- What is your favorite movie?
I had a hard time answering this recently, maybe Dirty Dancing? I also love the Toy Story movies, there’s something special about them.
- If you could travel anywhere, where would you travel?
I would love to spend a month just traveling around northern Michigan.
Seven Facts About Myself
1.I’m a political junkie. I’m watching the democratic debate as I write this post.
2.I have been with my husband, Justin, for almost 13 years. We will be married for six years in May.
3.My favorite work shoes were worn out this summer and I ended up spraining my ankle in them. I threw them away and on a REGULAR basis I get sad thinking that I don’t have them this spring/summer.
4.I made 4 lunches, 5 breakfast sandwiches, dinner, and prepped a bunch of food today for the week.
5.I find sentimental value in a lot of random things. I have a hard time throwing anything away that was gifted to me or that I can find a memory associated with it. “What if I need this one day?!?!”
6.I am supposed to present at a statewide conference at the end of the month, I have nothing more than a title slide finished. I just can’t seem to make it work.
7.I actually enjoy healthy food more than crappy food, BUT if I don’t prepare I lose interest incredibly quickly. Cadbury mini eggs are not included in this scenario, I would eat those by the bucketful.
